Acadia FCU Partners with Arkatechture to Bring Real-Time Data Insights to Members

The Maine-based credit union will unify its data to make faster, better-informed decisions and anticipate member needs

Arkatechture, a data and analytics company serving credit unions and community banks, today announced its partnership with Acadia Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial institution serving communities throughout northern and eastern Maine. Acadia FCU will use Arkatechture’s analytics platform to bring their data together, move beyond time-consuming manual reporting, and gain a clearer, more current view of their members and operations.

Before the partnership, building the reports and dashboards the credit union needed for strategic decisions often meant pulling information from the core processing system into large, multi-tab Excel workbooks. Some questions couldn’t be answered in finer detail without combining months of separate reports.

“It became really difficult to bring our data together to create the type of reports or dashboards we needed to make better decisions,” said Taurian Coopsamy, Accounting Manager at Acadia FCU.

A Partner, Not Just a Vendor

Acadia FCU wanted more than a software provider. They also wanted a partner to manage the platform and its underlying infrastructure so the credit union could focus on making decisions.

“We were looking for a partner that we could grow with ... a vendor that understood what being a credit union is and what our mission and purpose is,” said Coopsamy.

Arkatechture’s Maine roots and the credit union’s experience with the Arkatechture team also played a role in the decision. Acadia FCU also valued the opportunity to incorporate AI and automation into how they work with data.

Faster Insights, Smarter Decisions

With data flowing into a single platform, Acadia FCU plans to build data-rich dashboards, track strategic initiatives in near real time, and move beyond relying on monthly reports.

“I think this will give us an insight into quicker snapshots, daily reporting and possibly uncover growth opportunities that we might otherwise miss if we didn’t have that data available right at our fingertips,” said Charles Pelletier, Vice President of Information Technology at Acadia FCU.

The credit union also expects to better understand when and how members use their branches, so they can staff for peak demand and make sure the right expertise is available to answer member questions.

Benefits for Members

Acadia FCU expects the partnership to help them close process gaps, refine current services, and respond to members earlier. They also expect to use data to understand market conditions, so they can offer the right products and services and help shield members from market issues.
